Rex Kessler

Custom woodwork is Rex Kessler's specialty and love. After an accident in 2000, which initially left him paralyzed, he emerged from his rehabilitation and turned a previous pastime into a full-time passion. In 2003 he started his own custom woodworking shop, Kessler Woodworking. Rex's unlimited talents create functional, beautiful pieces such as cabinets, flooring, furniture, specialty molding and even a pulpit and baptismal font for his church. During Michigan's hard economic times, Rex has carved a niche for himself with his beautiful cutting boards and game boards with their intricate patterns of dark and light woods. Beyond traditional formats Rex enjoys spontaneous invention and prides himself on the fact that, "If you can draw it, I can build it." All of Rex's pieces consist of solid, top notch hardware and high-quality construction. Rex happily states that he loves what he does, which goes without saying. The fine craftsmanship, care and attention in each of his products says it for him.
