Pat has spent most of her career as a commercial artist after studying at the UofM School of Art and the College for Creative Studies in Detroit. She had spent her formative years learning and working in traditional media, including using ink on vellum and airbrushing. As her professional career became almost totally digital, she found herself craving more traditional methods as an antidote for all of the screen time.
To her delight, she recently discovered oil painting, and paints en plein air whenever she can. She uses bold brushstrokes to convey the textures and movement in the landscapes she paints, which are largely based on the breathtaking places she has visited around the US and her beautiful Michigan surroundings.
