Laurel Karnecki started her jewelry studio, Laurel's Bench, in 2009 after honing her skills while working for other talented jewelers. Using recycled metals, untreated stones and other natural products, Laurel hand builds each piece as a wearable work of art. Simple metal frames compliment the stones, and domed crystals encase delicate, organic specimens. Laurel pays careful attention to detail and often creates unique interest in her chain work and shaded patinas.
During a decade of travel and exploration she has lived coast to coast and in-between, finally ending in Indiana. She currently lives with her husband and their two children in South Bend, where she is able to spend much of her time creating new work.
