Handmade by Yoshiko Kozawa in Illinois, each item is made from a thin sheet of clay that is formed by hand. Nothing is slip cast for mass production. She hand mixes her glazes, tweaking the recipes now and then in search of the right finish.
The name of my business, Studio Giverny, is inspired by a visit to Monet’s home and garden in Giverny, France. Yoshiko fell in love with the idea of making a place, a vessel, that was inspired by nature.
