Motawi Taliesin Tree in Red - 6x8
In the 1930s, the apprentices of Frank Lloyd Wright’s Taliesin Fellowship celebrated the season with handmade holiday cards. This lively tree comes from one such design by Eugene Masselink, Wright’s trusted secretary and muralist. Masselink translated nature into bold, geometric forms, echoing Wright’s philosophy while crafting a style all his own. His Christmas card designs became cherished tokens within the Fellowship community—expressions of joy, creativity, and connection. Motawi’s adaptation brings this holiday gem to life in ceramic form.
Motawi Tileworks is based in Ann Arbor, Michigan where they design and make all of their ceramic tiles by hand. They can be hung on the wall, displayed on a stand, or used as the focal point in your next tile project.
